Product updates, release notes, and changelog from the Trackstack team.
A bug has been fixed where labels using deal-flow inboxes could complete a release without the contract ever being signed. Now, when contracts are enabled, the 'Complete Release' button is hidden on the track view, and release completion can only happen through the deal drawer after the contract has been countersigned.
Impact: Artists are protected from releases being completed without a signed contract
We've fixed an issue where releases could be marked as complete before receiving the final files from the artist. Now, the system will prevent deal completion until all required final files have been submitted, ensuring a more reliable release process.
Impact: Prevents incomplete releases from being finalized prematurely
When uploading final delivery files (master audio, stems, or artwork) for a release deal, you now see exactly which file types are accepted and the maximum file size directly beneath the upload field. If you try to upload a wrong file type or an oversized file, you'll get an instant error message instead of waiting for a long upload to fail.
Impact: See accepted file formats (e.g., WAV, AIFF, ZIP, JPG, PNG) and the 500 MB size limit displayed clearly before you upload
We've redesigned the final delivery process to give artists better control over their submissions. You can now remove and replace final delivery files, and delivery notes are limited to 200 characters to keep communication focused and clear. The delivery interface now displays real sender information in conversations between artists and labels.
Impact: Remove and replace final delivery files if you need to make corrections
Labels can no longer cancel a deal once the artist has uploaded their final files. This protects artists who have already fulfilled their side of the agreement, preventing their delivered work from being dismissed unfairly. A clear message now explains why the cancel option is unavailable.
Impact: Artists are protected from deal cancellations after they've delivered their final files
We've launched dedicated release pages for music releases sold through your store, complete with track previews, release details, and links to listen on Spotify, Apple Music, Beatport, and other platforms. Release cards now appear on your storefront homepage, showcasing your latest music with artwork, release type, and year.
Impact: Browse and preview individual tracks from releases before purchasing
When signing contracts, date fields marked as 'signing date' are now automatically filled with the current date and cannot be manually edited. This ensures that signing dates always match the actual signature date, preventing mismatches between when a contract was signed and what date appears on it.
Impact: Signing dates are always accurate and match the actual signature date
When canceling a deal, you're now required to provide a reason that will be shared with the artist. A confirmation dialog ensures you understand that cancellation is permanent and affects all tracks on the deal. This gives artists proper explanation for why their deal was cancelled.
Impact: Artists receive clear communication about why their deal was cancelled
We fixed an issue where clicking 'Revise & reissue' or 'Review & countersign' buttons in contract notification emails would sometimes lead to an error page. These buttons now correctly direct you to the contract management area where you can take action on the contract right away.
Impact: Contract notification emails now work reliably without broken links
When you cancel a deal, you'll now be prompted to confirm the action and provide a reason. This reason is shared with the artist as a public comment on all tracks in the deal, ensuring they understand why the cancellation occurred. The cancellation process is now more deliberate and transparent.
Impact: Prevents accidental deal cancellations with a confirmation dialog
Fixed an issue where you couldn't edit contract labels and resend revised contracts after receiving change requests from artists. Now when an artist requests changes to a contract, you can modify the contract template, update field values, and reissue the revised contract seamlessly.
Impact: Edit contract details when responding to artist change requests
We fixed an issue where logged-out visitors accessing account pages (Billing, Plans, and Profile) would see error messages instead of being smoothly redirected to login. Now, these pages properly redirect you to the login page without any errors in the background.
Impact: Cleaner experience when accessing account pages while logged out
When your membership plan changes through Stripe (such as scheduled downgrades or plan switches), your open browser tabs now immediately refresh to show your updated access. Previously, you had to manually reload to see changes take effect.
Impact: See plan changes instantly across all open tabs without manual refresh
We've fixed a critical issue where inboxes with incomplete opening hours configuration (no days selected) would become unresponsive and prevent users from submitting content. The system now properly handles this scenario and allows submissions when opening hours are not fully configured.
Impact: Inbox pages no longer hang or become unresponsive due to schedule configuration issues
We've fixed a compilation error in our desktop release system that could have prevented the website from building properly. This ensures that desktop release information remains accessible and up-to-date without interruption.
Impact: Improved website stability and reliability
Previously, if you changed your membership plan or were added/removed from a cohort while you had the studio open in a tab, your channel sidebar and event list wouldn't update until you manually refreshed the page. Now these changes appear immediately in your open session, just like they do after a page reload.
Impact: See updated channel and event access instantly when your plan changes or cohort membership updates
When a studio owner or admin changes who can access a channel or event, all team members with that page already open will now see the changes immediately without needing to refresh their browser. Previously, members had to manually reload their page to see access changes take effect.
Impact: See access changes instantly without manual page refreshes
Tracks that had their contracts countersigned were disappearing from the Releases tab and Saved list on the label side. This fix ensures that once a deal moves to 'in progress' after countersigning, those tracks remain visible in the correct sections of the app.
Impact: Countersigned tracks no longer vanish from the Releases tab after a deal progresses
We've fixed several issues with how contract and deal statuses are displayed and managed. Contracts can now be properly edited when reissued, deal status labels are more accurate, and the system better handles incomplete or cancelled deals to avoid showing incorrect status messages.
Impact: Contracts can now be prefilled and edited when reissuing, saving you time
We've integrated Modulate's advanced AI detection technology to help identify AI-generated audio in uploaded tracks. This new capability provides detailed analysis of vocal and instrumental content, confidence scores, and a comprehensive review interface for moderators to assess potentially AI-generated submissions.
Impact: More accurate detection of AI-generated audio in track submissions
We fixed an issue where contract PDF links would expire if you kept a deal or release page open for more than 10 minutes. Now, as long as you have the page open, the contract link will remain active and clickable, even if you're reading through it carefully before signing.
Impact: Contract PDF links no longer expire while you're reviewing a deal
When uploading tracks, you'll now see suggested naming pills that help you format your track title correctly based on your inbox and version type (Original Mix, Remix, etc.). The upload cover art is also now larger and more prominent. Everything remains fully editable — these are helpful suggestions, not restrictions.
Impact: Get smart suggestions for proper track title formatting based on your inbox and version type
We've made uploading tracks easier with two key improvements: the upload card now suggests how to format your track title using your inbox name and version markers (like 'Original Mix' or 'Remix'), and the cover art display is now much larger so you can see your artwork clearly during upload. The settings also now show exactly how your files will be credited.
Impact: Get smart suggestions for consistent track naming based on your inbox identity and track version
You can now set a custom artist name that will be used to credit your inbox in downloaded track files and embedded metadata. This is useful if your inbox name differs from how you want to be credited artistically—such as different casing, disambiguators like "(UK)", or when your inbox represents a label but you want to credit the actual artist. If you don't set a custom name, your inbox name will be used as before.
Impact: Control how you're credited in downloaded files and embedded artist tags
Fixed an issue where renaming a track while it was uploading would be lost. Previously, if you edited the track title while the progress bar was filling, the change would appear on your screen but wouldn't actually be saved—the original filename would show up in your library instead. Now your edits are properly saved, whether you make them during or after the upload completes.
Impact: Track titles you edit during upload are now properly saved to your library
We've fixed several issues that were causing downloads to fail silently, report success when they actually failed, or deliver the wrong file format. Downloads are now more reliable and will give you accurate feedback when something goes wrong.
Impact: Desktop app now downloads original WAV files instead of compressed MP3s when online
We've fixed how the player automatically advances to the next track when one finishes playing. The player now more reliably skips to the next song in your playlist, and single-track queues will properly stop at the end instead of replaying the same track over and over.
Impact: More reliable automatic progression to the next track in playlists
The offline tracks card in your sidebar now expands to show which inboxes keep their pending tracks cached on your device. You can toggle inbox sync settings without opening the full track-cache settings sheet, and your choices stay synchronized across both locations.
Impact: Quick access to inbox sync settings without navigating to a separate sheet
When you share a playlist with profile collection enabled, visitors now only need to provide their information once—not every time they download. We've also improved how we capture and track who's downloading your music, creating actual contact records that appear in your workspace so you know exactly who's enjoying your tracks.
Impact: Visitors only fill out their profile once per playlist share, then can download multiple tracks without re-entering information
We've made it easier to add tracks to your playlists by moving the 'Add Tracks' button out of the overflow menu and into the main playlist header—it's now a primary action on both desktop and mobile. We've also fixed an issue where track artwork wasn't displaying in the track picker, so you'll now see album art for every track when selecting what to add.
Impact: Add tracks to playlists faster with a prominent, always-visible button instead of hunting in the menu
We fixed a critical issue where download notifications could cause project downloads to fail unexpectedly. Now, even if something goes wrong with the notification system, your download will still complete successfully. This ensures you can always retrieve your files without interruption.
Impact: Downloads are now more reliable and won't fail due to notification issues
We've fixed how Network Quality is calculated in your Sent Insights to ensure it accounts for interactions across all of your inboxes, not just a limited sample. This gives you more accurate data about how your sends are performing overall.
Impact: More accurate Network Quality metrics that reflect your true sending performance
We fixed an issue where the 'View contract' button text would become invisible or difficult to read when you hovered over it. The button now maintains clear, readable text with improved visual feedback as you interact with it.
Impact: Contract button text remains clearly visible when hovering or clicking
We fixed a bug that would freeze the app when deleting a campaign. Previously, clicking delete on a campaign would make the entire app unresponsive until you refreshed the page. This issue has been resolved and the app will now remain responsive when deleting campaigns.
Impact: App no longer freezes when deleting campaigns
Spanish-speaking users will now see complete and accurate translations throughout the Reach email campaigns section. Previously missing Spanish translations for campaign templates, buttons, and UI elements have been filled in, ensuring a consistent experience in Spanish.
Impact: Spanish users now see fully translated text in the Reach campaigns area
The Lists feature is now fully translated into Spanish, allowing Spanish-speaking users to navigate and manage their curated lists in their preferred language. All interface text, buttons, and messages related to creating, editing, and organizing lists are now available in Spanish.
Impact: Spanish-speaking users can now use the Lists feature entirely in their native language
We've fixed an issue where links to manage your submissions and open your inbox weren't working properly in different environments. Now when you click 'Manage Submission' or 'Open Inbox' buttons, they'll correctly direct you to the right inbox workspace regardless of which version of the site you're using.
Impact: Submission management links now work reliably in all environments
We've enhanced the playlist upload and sharing experience with better visual design and improved workflow. When uploading tracks to playlists, you'll now see a clearer interface that pre-selects playlists you're currently viewing, and the playlist player now features dynamic artwork backdrops that create a more polished appearance.
Impact: Faster playlist assignment when uploading tracks—pre-selected playlists reduce clicks needed
When someone downloads a track or playlist through a share link, the artist will now receive a notification about it. Artists can control whether they receive these notifications through their notification preferences settings.
Impact: Stay informed about who is downloading your shared content
Creating a new list now launches you straight into Discover with pre-filled filters based on genres and other metadata, letting you add DJs as you discover them. List details have been streamlined with inline editing and genre filtering, making it faster to organize and refine your lists.
Impact: Create lists and immediately start adding DJs in Discover without switching views
We've made changes to how studio operations work behind the scenes to make them more reliable and stable. This update fixes several technical issues that were causing errors in member management, resource creation, thread management, and onboarding workflows. The changes ensure these core features work more smoothly without disruption to your experience.
Impact: More reliable member migration and management operations
We've redesigned list mode to be more visually prominent and easier to use. The Done button is now clearly visible, list names and descriptions can be edited directly without a modal, and we've replaced the genre pie chart with actionable stats that filter your inbox list. You'll also see the sidebar automatically collapse in list mode so you have more room to work.
Impact: List mode is now visually obvious with a distinctive banner and header indicator, so you always know what mode you're in
We've fixed an issue where playlist name input fields were difficult to read when using dark mode. The text input now uses our standard input component, which properly supports dark mode styling and ensures the playlist name is always visible and easy to read.
Impact: Playlist name input is now clearly visible in dark mode
When you try to add a contact that already exists in your audience, you'll now see a clear, friendly message explaining that the contact has already been added. Previously, you would receive a generic error message. This makes it easier to understand what went wrong and take the right action.
Impact: Get a clear, specific message when attempting to add a duplicate contact
Fixed an issue where navigating back from a custom list detail, deleting a list, or accessing your lists from Discover would always take you to the Curated tab instead of the Custom tab you came from. Now the back button remembers which tab you were on and returns you there.
Impact: Smoother navigation experience when browsing your custom lists
You can now send or view contracts directly from the track actions menu in your inbox. When a release is ready for contract, a new 'Send contract' option appears in the menu, and once a contract exists, you can quickly access it with a 'View contract' option without navigating away from your current view.
Impact: Faster contract management with direct access from the inbox menu
We've added contract status badges directly to your Releases list, so you can see at a glance which deals are waiting for signatures without opening each one. Labels can now filter releases by contract state to quickly find what needs attention.
Impact: Quickly identify which contracts need action without opening each release
Genre filters in Discover now work as a three-state toggle: click to include a genre, click again to exclude it (shown with a red minus icon), and click once more to turn the filter off. When you exclude a genre, inboxes that accept that genre won't appear in your results. We've also fixed a bug where excluded filters would disappear from the filter list.
Impact: Better control over discovery results by actively excluding genres you don't want to see
We've removed debug messages that were appearing in your browser console every time you uploaded tracks. These messages contained technical details like file names and track IDs that weren't meant for users. Your uploads will work exactly the same way—this is just cleanup to keep your console clean and your data more private.
Impact: Cleaner browser console with no unnecessary debug messages
We've improved the Reach feature by adding complete Spanish translations and localizing dates throughout the Reach section. This means Spanish-speaking users will now see all text in their language, and dates will be displayed in the appropriate format for their region. All campaign lists, audience management, and contact tables now display dates and times in your local format.
Impact: Full Spanish language support for all Reach features including campaigns, audiences, and contact lists
