XILS-Lab Prices Its Memorymoog Homage at $79 to Launch

MemoryTone arrives as a full analog-modelled soft synth, discounted to less than half its list price for the opening seven weeks.

The Offer

The immediate hook is commercial. MemoryTone carries a $199 list price but opens at $79 from September 8 to November 1, sold through XILS-Lab's web store and Plugivery's authorised resellers. That window, rather than the feature set, is what makes it worth a producer's attention now, since the instrument settles to full price once it closes.

What the Money Buys

The pitch behind that price is faithfulness to the Memorymoog. XILS-Lab has centred the design on three analog-style oscillators per voice and a self-oscillating 24dB ladder filter, which is where the low-end weight and lead cut come from, and paired it with two ADSR envelopes and six modulation slots for shaping. Around that core sits everything meant to keep it usable in practice: an arpeggiator for turning chords into moving patterns, MPE and full MIDI control for expressive and hands-on playing, and an independently routable effects rack spanning chorus, delay, phaser, reverb, EQ, and resonator. A large preset library and a resizable, high-resolution interface round out the package. XILS-Lab is aiming it across hip-hop, pop, rock, and electronic production rather than any one scene.
